  • Direct imaging captures the crystalline vibrations of a supersolid made of atoms and light

    Researchers have observed a supersolid for the first time. It is a rigid crystal with a regular spatial organization, typical of a solid, but is capable of flowing without any viscosity at temperatures close to absolute zero. When cooled further, it becomes solid again.
