  • Transient histone deacetylase inhibition induces cellular memory of gene expression and 3D genome folding

Cells that undergo a perturbation are able to retain a memory of it within the 3D structure of their genome, independently of their DNA sequence. The transient induction causes changes in the proteins that compact DNA, which alters the architecture of chromosomes, even after the perturbation has disappeared.
