Particle discovered at CERN solves a 20-year-old mystery
Physicists have identified a baryon (composite particle such as proton or nucleon) composed of two charm quarks. This extremely unstable particle disappears in a fraction of a second. Current models are unable to accurately predict the mass and behavior of heavy quark particles because the data have outpaced the theory.
