  • Gold as an innovative semiconductor

Gold is generally a metal, but if it contains only one atom, it can become a semiconductor. The very first gold foil the thickness of an atom constitutes a new two-dimensional material with semiconductor properties which would have vast application potential in various technologies.

Skyrmions can transport data 10 times faster than today

Skyrmions, agglomerates of spins, quantum characteristic of electrons, form a very stable spiral structure, called a “magnetic swirl”. The size of a molecule, they can travel almost a kilometer in a second, being able to transport computer data ten times faster than today for tomorrow’s computers.

Boston Dynamics’ human electric robots now more skilled and more agile than humans

A new version of Boston Dynamics’ human electric robots can complete full rotations of its limbs in either direction, allowing it to perform movements that seem unnatural. This electric version is stronger, more skilled and more agile by not being limited by human movements.

Creating new and more difficult challenges for AI benchmarks

AI has hit human-level performance on many significant AI benchmarks, from those testing reading comprehension to visual reasoning. Because AI has been blasting past so many standard benchmarks, AI scholars have had to create new and more difficult challenges. This year’s index also tracked several of these new benchmarks, including those for tasks in coding, advanced reasoning, and agentic behavior.

New material for commonly touched devices and surfaces to limit the spread of viruses

A surface resembling an ordinary black mirror but actually dotted with tiny 290 nanometer spikes has been designed to eliminate up to 96% of viruses. This material could be integrated into commonly touched devices and surfaces to limit the spread of viruses and reduce the need to use disinfectants.

(78aH*) : August 6th is the anniversary of the atomic bomb explosion on Hiroshima in 1945.
This date represents the entrance of Humanity into the age of Revelation (Apocalypsis).
Thus, since August 6, 2023, we are in 78 aH, (meanning 78 after Hiroshima).
