  • Synthetic chromosomes to better understand how our DNA works

The SynHG project involves designing purely synthetic chromosomes to better understand how our DNA works. A synthetic chromosome, representing 2% of the genome, will be tested initially. The results could accelerate the fight against genetic diseases and aging.

The hemifusome produces spherical vesicles that envelop different types of cellular materials

Researchers have identified a tiny component of our cells called the “hemifusome.” The hemifusome produces spherical vesicles that envelop different types of cellular materials and ensure their transport. It’s comparable to a recycling center that can promote the development of numerous conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases, if it doesn’t function properly.

The brain acts like an orchestra conductor
