  • The Coldest “Stars” in the Galaxy Might Actually Be Alien Megastructures

    A highly advanced civilization could construct a sphere, a “Dyson swarm,” around its host star to capture all of its energy. Red dwarfs, the most abundant stars in the Milky Way, consume their nuclear fuel incredibly slowly, giving them estimated lifespans of billions of years. White dwarfs are the remnants of stars similar to our Sun, which have shrunk to incredibly small radii that radiate energy steadily for billions of years.
