Artificial memory for a slug thanks to RNA…

– Taking RNA from one slug and injecting it into another slug creates an artificial memory in the second slug.

The memories would be stored in the nucleus of the neurons rather than in the synapses.

It remains to identify the type of RNA that can transfer memories.

Analysing specific barcode for each species…

– After collecting 5 million barcodes from 100,000 animal species, geneticists analized the COI gene found in mitochondria, that creates the specific barcode for each species. The small variance observed in 90% of CIOs can come from a too recent past to accumulate other mutations. One explanation would be the appearance of these species between 100,000 and 200,000 years ago.
