Forest soil found within 900km of the South Pole
Forest soil from cretaceous period was found within 900km of the South Pole. The discovery and analysis showed that carbon-dioxyde (CO²) levels in the atmosphere were far higher than expected. Temperatures were around 12°C and there was no ice cap.
85% of the matter in the Universe as dark matter ?
Astronomers have calculated that as much as 85% of the matter in the Universe is dark matter, hypothetised to be the product of the sterile neutrino. A meta-analysis of 20 years of raw archival X-ray data of empty space around the Milky Way didn’t find any sterile neutrino.
